The cat tree was precariously perched on the side of the step yet we didn't quite move it. The next thing I knew, their Dad was calling me to say the cat tree had fallen down and go check out the pond to see, CSI-style, what had happened.
Water was scattered everywhere and a smatter of pawprints were on the deck. Kaku peered at me from under the table and initially I thought she was the one who had climbed onto the cat tree and fell into the water. But she looked dry and scurried away.
While in the bathroom, I saw a little orange cat peer at me as he trotted by. His underside was wet like stalactites. I asked him, "Mu, did you fall into the pond?" He looked sheepish and went on his way.
