A Tribute to Jen

A wonderful tribute to Jennifer Aniston by the Washington Post: Remember, Jen: You're a Peach, He's a Pitt.

You know that song: "He's home again from another day. She smiles at him as he walks through the door. She wonders if it will be okay. It's hard for her when he doesn't respond. He says babe you look a mess. You look dowdy in that dress. It's just not like it used to be. Then she says: I may not be a lady but I'm all woman. From Monday to Sunday I work harder than you know. I'm no classy lady but I'm all woman. And this woman needs a little love to make her strong."

Blythe Blog: Kate's new clothes

Last night I'd tinkered with the idea of getting Kate some new clothes. As we all know, Blythe clothes are expensive, so I could either sew one (I can't sew) or innovate.

I'd snipped off a bit of my headband before to wrap my white Creative MuVo so I used the remainder to make a tube top and skirt for Kate. They fit perfectly! :D

WoW Chronicles: Lakeshire, Westfall, Darkshire

First thing I did when I woke up in Lakeshire Inn was check the mailbox. Sold 3 items - a nice 50 silver - and was returned a couple. I was delighted to see that Gubber, the fisherman I had helped in Darkshore had sent me a nice gift!

I stretched and warmed up to take on the dragonkins again. This time, I died just once (a second dragonkin appeared out of nowhere and I got charred to death) but managed to finish the quest fairly quickly.

I had meant to head to Lock Modan today but ended up bringing a drumstick to Parker, who was stationed at the Three Corners from his sweetheart Darcy, a pretty waitress from the inn. He asked me to return to buy some flowers from the herbalist (but not to tell her who they are for). Darcy appreciated the lovely hibiscus and hinted of some jealousy on the herbalist's part.

Then it was off to Westfall to deliver a letter. At the outskirts I met a farmer and his wife Verna Furlbrow who needed some aid:

"Poor Old Blanchy! Such a tired beast after all the work we put her through. I fed her before we left the farm, but we weren't expecting the wagon to break on us. If you could bring her a few handfuls of oats from the fields, I'd be grateful.

I bet you could find some around all of the farms in Westfall, if you can steer clear of those horrific machines that have taken over. There are several farms southwest of here."

Along with a few other quests another family asked of me, I managed to gather the oak sacks and slay a bunch of Jeepers Creepers lookalikes (levels 14-16) for some odd grass and nice copper. The farmer's wife promised 2 nice recipes if I gathered everything on her list. I didn't finish all the items but got to Sentinel Hill to meet the officer in charge.

I got the gnoll paws he wanted but got distracted into running to Duskwood. The exploring bug bit me and I chewed. Duskwood was a dismally dark and depressing place not unlike Ashenvale. When I finally reached Darkshire, which was at the other end of the map, nearly, I received some requests to kill the undead. Clearly as a former undead rogue it sits uncomfortably with me, so I declined. Duskwood's alcoves seemed suspiciously similar to Silverpine Forest.

After running around in circles I found the flight master and flew back to Lakeshire to deliver a couple of letters to the mayor and a spy in the inn. I then decided to run through Elwynn Forest (safer and I could be distracted by attempting to make my Blythe Kate a new black outfit from my hairband).

While it took a while, Kate had a lovely new top and dress by the time I hit Westfall. Verna was very grateful and gave me Old Blanchy's feeding pouch and blanket!

I couldn't refuse and was immensely touched by their kindness. I guess the oat bags serve as new pouches and Verna would be making Old Blanchy a new blanket from the 8 bags of oats I brought her.

Nevertheless, it was the best token of appreciation I have received from anyone in Thunderhorn. I shall keep them always.

I ran to Sentinel Hill to speak with the officers and after, found the flight path to fly back to Stormwind. Tired and strangely elated, I headed to the inn to rest for the night.

Wow Chronicles: Darkshore, Lakeshire

I headed north today to try complete my quests in Darkshore.

Took out some moonkins and found the Red Crystal. Returned to douse the crystal. Completed! Yay. :)

I *almost* finished the quest to poison the dang orcs down by the river but got killed by the satyr, which at level 19 was a tad too high for me at 16. It was an awful quest: slaying the orcs, stealing the grain and nut (and another I can't recall) stores, mixing them in a bowl and adding it to the bonfire, all of which I did. I only failed to kill the satyr. Swearing under my breath, I tried the nagas but got killed too when I ran the wrong way.

Then it was way south to take on some moonstalker sires (levels 16-18) and grizzled thistle bears (levels 15-17). (As an afterthought and looking at thottbot, I might head to Loch Modan after this to quest. Am now in the yellow zone where quests are a struggle as a solo. Yep, even as a rogue.) Discovered some new zones down south and even ran a little to Ashenvale.

Once completed, I took the ship to Menethil Harbor and flew to Ironforge and the tram to Stormwind. I visited the cat lady with a comfy 80+ silver in my pack and bought a lovely silver tabby. :D

We ran to Goldshire and I thought to explore Duskwood. But ended up in Lakeshire when a human asked for help.

Lakeshire is a pretty town and the first human to ask me for help was a little girl called Hilary. She'd lost her necklace and her father would be upset should he find out she lost it. Foreman Oslow was the next to ask for help. His tools were being delivered from Goldshire by wagon but the bridge was blown out. He put the tools in a boat but the orcs hit it with a catapult. The toolbox sank right to the bottom of the Lake Everstill.

I swam around for ages, avoiding the murlocs and level 25 elite Lake Thresher. After consulting the oracle (aka thottbot), I found Hilary's necklace in a mudpile just under the bridge. But the toolbox was nowhere to be found.

A bunch of chappies swimming around invited me to join them in slaying a thresher for fun. I thought why not. After getting killed 2 times, we finally succeeded the third time with some help. I asked for help on general chat about the tools, and someone kindly guided me to find it at the L in Lake on the map. It was there! :D

I returned both to their grateful owners. Hilary was most dear about it.

Afterwards I managed to complete a quest slaying orcs by the lake with another level 18 rogue, and decided to call it a day. The inn at Lakeshire was most comfortable and I turned in for the night.

WoW Chronicles: Pallidor, Ironforge, and Stormwind

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Me at Level 16 with new gear. :)

I don't recall much of the quests I completed last night after my last entry but suffice to say, took on some moonkins (who dropped small eggs that helped up my cooking skill), darkshore threshers found south of Auberdine in the sea, and partied with a level 15 druid called Sapphirejade (I think) to slay the Den Mother, who was a level 19. Ah, and also Anaya, to free her spirit and bring her pendant back to her sad love who wept piteously when I reported back to him.

I thought I'd go adventure some and headed for Menethil Harbor to try to find Ironforge. I sent a tell for instructions and a very kind level 27 human pally called Pallidor offered to show me the way. I was immensely touched and accepted. It was a long and complicated route to Ironforge. Pallidor patiently took me through the tunnels and showed me the flight paths.

When we arrived at Ironforge, he took me to the flight master and said he had to show me something else: the tram! :o I was completely blown away and missed the first tram. He jumped off and was quite amused at my reaction. I confessed I was from the darkside and observed that it was grossly lacking in such modern implements (I figure the undead, orcs, and trolls aren't the most innovative races anyhow). He guffawed and the next tram arrived.

It was such a heady ride! Like a cross between an amusement park ride and an Indiana Jones escapade. I was in such awe and wonder! And we arrived in Stormwind. What beauty! Little human children running around, trees and rivers. If I were human, I would be perfectly at home. Pallidor commented that he loved Darnassus too and as for me, I loved both.

We parted company at the flight master. I gave him 10 minor rejuvenation potions as a grateful thank you. He whispered later asking me if I needed any a pearl handed dagger or a mace. I replied that I would be most grateful for the dagger as it was a vast upgrade from mine. I asked him to let me know how much it would cost and he very sweetly replied that donations are welcome but not expected. Most certainly I would send him some silver. He has been undoubtedly the kindest player I met in WoW. I am most grateful to have met him.

I wandered around Stormwind some and then headed outside to find the lady who sells cats. She was just south of Stormwind and was most hospitable. I was apologetic that I had only 20 silver and promised to return when I had more to purchase the silver tabby I most wanted.

Finally I hearthed back to Darkshore and lay to rest for the night.

WoW Chronicles: Auberdine, Darkshore

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Onu and I

I woke up in Darkshore today. It is lovely waking up in the inn just by the sea. Granted there isn't much privacy but I reckon us elves have seen pretty much everything.

It was a rather long day today and I've lost count of the number of quests I completed. Needless to say I tackled the murlocs (disguised under another name but I know their species when I see them), died twice, and was grateful that they rezzed slower than I. I managed to grab a piece of the poor dead beached sea creature and then headed south to slay some crawlers.

I had some trouble finding the Buzzbox 827 but thanks to thottbot - *the* oracle - I found it just a stone's throw from the Hippogriff master. Nevertheless it was fairly disconcerting hearing Wizbang holler through the Buzzbox about a followup quest he needed my help with.

I decided to tackle the highborns after and tamed a rabid thistle bear. Oddly enough, the bear followed me while I ventured into the highborn area to read a couple of tablets and disappeared after but I was able to claim that quest.

A short rest at Auberdine and I was off again. With another handful of quests, I took down 8 Blackwood Pathfinders and 5 Windtalkers. They put up a good fight. Thankfully I'd headed back to Darnassus to raid my bank for more potions during my rest time (and also caught some fish) otherwise I might well have died many more times than I did.

En route to the Grove of the Ancients, I tackled more (I had 20 to slay) rabid thistle bears and striders. Passing Wildbend River, I stumbled upon the Grove and found Onu, who took the message Barithras Moonshade asked me to pass on. The server restart clock began and I headed back to Auberdine, managing to complete my strider quest in the meantime.

WoW Chronicles: Darnassus

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Completed all my quests in Dolanaar and Darnassus today, and happily levelled from 11 to 13. The rest bonus really helped.

First, I headed north to collect 6 Bloodfeather Belts and plucked some herbs on the way to brew some potions later. The harpies didn't put up too much of a fight. They dropped good copper too.

Then it was off to find Sethir, the elusive satyr. After running around in circles (following varying advice), I finally found him just by the cliff's edge where the giant branch stretches out into the abyss. He detected me in stealth, telling me "rogue, bugger off" but I crept around him and pickpocketed him from the back, a small distance away. And got the journal!

I got greedy after that, wondering what treasures he might drop. I trailed him halfway down the branch and attacked. Out of nowhere 2 minions (hollering "we serve only him!") ran up and attacked me too. It was a battle lost. I turned and sprinted off and was almost stopped and killed by the three that appeared behind me. I was down to almost no health when I quickly drank a health potion and sped away. Thankfully they didn't follow.

Panting a little, I recovered by a tree in Shadowmeld, and checked the map for Lady Sathrah. Priestess A'moora from the Temple of the Moon wanted her Silvery Spinnerets and entreated me to get them for her.

She was easy to find, although I was momentarily surprised she was a spider. I did not hesitate. and then I had her Spinnerets.

Tired, I hearthed back to Darnassus and handed in my quests. Later I realised I had to go back to the Oracle Glade to hand in the Enchanted Glade quest (Bloodfeather Belts) to Sentinel Arynia Cloudsbreak who was in the Oracle Glade.

After I was done, I returned to Darnassus to sell off some loot and headed to Gnarlpine Hold to find Ursal the Mauler. His minions were easy to take down one by one, but I misjudged one attack and had three on me, including a pathfinder who kept throwing lightning bolts at me. With the help of a potion, I managed to take all three out.

I rested some and then stealthed in to find Ursal. I took out one minion, then shot a totem dude which brought him and Ursal rushing to me. I quickly slayed the totem and Ursal without too much fanfare. The peeps dropped some pretty nice loot that pretty much upgraded my gear one notch. The cool cunning blade I received for Sethir's Journal earlier helped some too.

I stealthed out and ran to Dolanaar, returned the quest, and ran back to Darnassus. I sold my loot and decided to do a spot of fishing. I managed to catch 4 fish, upping my fishing skill to a dismal 10. Packed up the fishing gear and headed for Darkshore.

In Darkshore I was surprised to see another 5-6 quests available to me. A really nice level 27 druid running towards the harbour cast the Mark of the Wild on me and I happily carried it to the inn where I crashed and fell fast asleep.
