The 5 closest matches with #1 as the closest. A rather interesting analysis. More accurate than the last quiz I have to say, although as with quizzes, most cover the spectrum. Fascinating thing is that the potential careers I might have ended up in are found in each of the categories: scientist, programmer, mathematician, programmer, lawyer, forensic pathologist (yup!), and photographer.

"Our approach represents a novel approach in tissue engineering," Dr. Ferber said. "It allows inducing a developmental redirection of adult fully differentiated tissues, allowing these tissues to acquire a new identity and function, without altering the original genetic information."
"In our application of converting liver to endocrine pancreas, it allows the diabetic patient to be also the donor of his own therapeutic tissue," Dr. Ferber explained. "A similar approach could be implemented in treating additional degenerative or metabolic diseases that involve other tissues."
Dr. Ferber said that additional studies will examine whether transdifferentiated cells resist autoimmune attack, as in type 1 diabetes, and will simulate autologous implantation in larger animals. She anticipates initial experiments in humans in several years.

I thought I'd never feel this pain again but it came back, 15 years later, as if someone were scooping out my insides and I was hollow inside. I almost fainted in the hospital but a kind lady helped me to the car. My Dad told me, you're not going to make it to work like that, and drove me home.
Sleep eluded me. The drugs weren't taking effect. Finally the pain ebbed and became just numb and I finally slept. Later, I still couldn't get up. Tux sniffed my hand. I remembered the day before when Kaku looked right at me and said mrrow. Sam was lying beside me and stared at me rather concerned.
I forced myself to get up, berating myself for being a wuss, fed up my body betrayed me, understanding the numerous debates on mind-body separation, how it could feel like a reality. I checked my office email and tired quickly. Even sitting up was a chore. I lay back in bed again and rested.
My best friend V offered to stop by and bring me food, but I said I was okay. He was flying off to the UK for a month and I was very sad I wouldn't see him before he left. My Mom called to see how I was. It felt like I was finding out who really cared for me during this trial. Who'd be there for me. But then again I told no one how I was.
Later, I pulled myself to fix some food. How hard was it, boiling water and adding it to instant pasta. I sat in the large round seat enjoying the cool breeze and waited. Kaku was just on the perch my brother bought for the cats. For the first time in my life, she blinked at me, lazily and with affection. I blinked back delighted.
All the cats came to the kitchen. Boy sat near the perch and watched me, looking rather concerned. He blinked back when I did, but continued to watch me. The other three sat close by, ensuring I was fine, and perhaps also curious why Mom was in the kitchen, sitting in the round chair, when she'd never done that before.
The chair was comfy and I felt comforted that my kids cared so much. Sleep came quickly after I ate. Boy stayed faithfully by my feet and I dreamed vividly of strange things.

-- Thomas Edison (Harper's Magazine, 1890)
